DETAILS:

Wildflower and Bird Walk starting at 2pm. Guided walk around Bridgetown Jarrah Park, about 2 hours.

Drive south over the main bridge in town then turn right and enjoy a scenic drive along Brockman Highway for about 20km following the Blackwood River to Bridgetown Jarrah Park. Turn right at the sign and drive along a short track to the secluded picnic area with toilets. Explore two of the four loop walks that meander along Maranup Brook with botanist and bird guide Erica Shedley. You are welcome to continue at your leisure. These tracks take you through differing habitats with all four of the main tree species present (Karri, Jarrah, Marri and Blackbutt) and an abundance of colourful wildflowers in spring. Old growth trees, fallen logs, banksias, tall shrubs and moist creekline habitat attract a variety of birds.

Wear sturdy shoes, no dogs please. $5 includes light refreshments. To book please call Erica Shedley, Southern Flora Wildflower and Bird tours, phone 0437 872 954.
